Standing in front of 400+ students explaining why a correlated subquery is slow, or what a lock actually holds, forces you to understand the mechanics rather than the syntax. That is the same instinct I bring to code: know why it works, not just that it runs.
My work sits mostly server-side — layered .NET APIs, Express services with authenticated endpoints, SQL that holds up under load. I care about the unglamorous parts: validation, error handling, constraints and clear setup instructions, because they are what keep a service trustworthy after launch.
